Cephline — Privacy Policy
Effective 17 August 2026 · Last updated 17 August 2026
Cephline collects nothing. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no server. The X-ray image you open and every landmark you place stay on your device, and are not transmitted anywhere.
Cephline is an Android app for cephalometric tracing: you open a lateral X-ray image,
mark anatomical landmark points on it, and the app computes measurements from the geometry
between those points. This policy explains how it handles your information. It applies to
the Cephline app published under the package name com.vikrantnegi.cephline.
Information collected
None. Cephline does not collect, store on a server, sell, share, or otherwise transmit any personal information. Specifically, it does not collect:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other contact details
- Accounts or login credentials — there are none to create
- Location data
- Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or usage analytics
- Crash reports or diagnostic telemetry
- Payment information — the app is free and contains no purchases
Images you open
To trace an X-ray, you select an image using your device's own system photo picker. Cephline receives only the single image you choose; it has no access to the rest of your photo library, and it does not request storage permissions.
That image, and the landmark positions and measurements derived from it, exist only in the app's memory while you are using it. Cephline writes no files, keeps no database, and has no offline storage: closing the app discards the image and the tracing. Nothing is uploaded, backed up, or synchronised.
An X-ray image may itself contain personal or health information — a name, an ID, or a date burned into the image. Cephline never transmits that image, but it also cannot control what you do with it elsewhere. If you are tracing someone else's X-ray, handling that image responsibly, and with any consent your jurisdiction requires, remains your responsibility.
Network access
Cephline makes no network requests. It contains no code that contacts a server, and no third-party SDK that could do so on its behalf. There is no analytics library, no advertising library, no crash reporter, and no cloud sync.
Permissions
Cephline requests no runtime permissions — you will never see a permission prompt. Google Play will nonetheless list three permissions, all of which are declared automatically by the open-source frameworks the app is built on rather than by Cephline itself, and none of which the app uses:
INTERNET— declared by the application framework. Cephline makes no network requests, as described above.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW("Display over other apps") — declared by the framework for its developer tools. Cephline draws nothing over other apps.VIBRATE— declared by the framework. Cephline does not use haptics.
Work to remove these unused declarations from released builds is in progress. The four sensitive permissions a camera- or gallery-based app might otherwise request — camera, microphone, and reading or writing external storage — are explicitly blocked by Cephline and cannot be requested.
Children
Cephline is a professional tool intended for orthodontic students and practitioners. It is not directed at children, and because it collects no information at all, it collects none from children.
Your rights
Data-protection laws — including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the EU General Data Protection Regulation — give you rights to access, correct, and delete personal data held about you. Cephline holds no personal data about you, so there is nothing to access, correct, export, or delete, and no account to close. You are welcome to contact us to confirm this.
Changes to this policy
If Cephline's behaviour ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, this policy will be updated before that change is released, and the "Last updated" date above will change. Because the app has no network access, it cannot notify you; please check this page if you want to be sure.
